NUEVO LAREDO, TAM.- El esfuerzo de niños, jóvenes y entrenadores por haber colocado a Nuevo Laredo en los primeros planos del deporte a nivel estatal, nacional e internacional fue reconocido con una beca deportiva.
Fueron un total de 149 atletas y un entrenador a quienes se benefició con un estimulo por representar de manera digna a la ciudad del cambio, por lo que el presidente municipal, Carlos Canturosas Villarreal los reconoció en una ceremonia dentro del gimnasio de la Unidad Deportiva Benito Juárez.
Deportistas destacados en natación, béisbol, fútbol, basquetbol, gimnasia, ajedrez, voleibol, tae-kwon-do, wu shu, entre otras disciplinas, recibieron de manos del alcalde la tarjeta donde por primera vez, se les beneficiará con un estimulo por sus logros dentro de su disciplina.
“Este reconocimiento lo hace el gobierno municipal, sabedor de la importancia que tiene en Nuevo Laredo y en el desarrollo humano el deporte, por eso lo estamos impulsando como nunca antes, no solamente lo hacemos como en este caso con becas de excelencia deportiva, sino con infraestructura deportiva”, aseguró el munícipe.
Canturosas Villarreal señaló estar convencido que el deporte encamina a las generaciones, además de quitarle la tentación a los jóvenes de conducirse por una mala vida y con vicios, por lo cual en su administración se continuará impulsando la actividad física.
Por su parte Rogelio Martínez Jr. García, jugador de basquetbol sobre silla de ruedas, destacó que con la ayuda que se les brinda por medio de la beca, se apoyará para comprar lo necesario y continuar en su carrera de baloncesto, además de ser un incentivo que lo impulse a continuar adelante.
“Le agradezco al presidente municipal por esta nueva oportunidad que no está dando, nunca habíamos tenido una beca municipal y por eso le queremos dar las gracias”, dijo Rogelio Martínez Jr. García.
Andrea Valenzuela Moreno, jugadora de voleibol, mencionó que la beca representa un logro a su carrera como deportista.
“Me ayuda en mucho, es algo que podré utilizar cuando salga de viaje a los torneos a algún campamento, agradezco al presidente Carlos Canturosas por su apoyo”, expresó.
Uno de los conocidos beisbolistas de la comunidad, Roque Salinas Sanmiguel, también fue beneficiado, pues su esfuerzo lo ha logrado impulsar hasta a ser campeón mundial con la selección de México.
“Le doy las gracias al presidente municipal por apoyarme en el deporte y seguir en el beisbol, le pido que nos siga apoyando para que todos los deportistas de Nuevo Laredo, como los que estamos aquí ahorita, sigamos dando los mejores resultados a la ciudad”, puntualizó.
El depósito a las tarjetas se realizará cada mes y posteriormente se irán incluyendo más destacados deportistas, que están poniendo a Nuevo Laredo en lo alto de la cima deportiva.
