Con el fin de mejorar la vida de los tamaulipecos, el gobierno del Estado a cargo de Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca en conjunto con el gobierno municipal que preside Enrique Rivas y en coordinación con la Secretaría de Educación de Tamaulipas, organizaron la conferencia Cambio Climático y sus Efectos en las Fronteras, disertada por el Dr. Rajendra KumarPachauri, Premio Nobel de la Paz 2007.
La conferencia sobre el Cambio Climático y sus Efectos en las Fronteras, se realizó este lunes 20 de marzo en el teatro principal del Centro Cultural de Nuevo Laredo, donde se dieron cita más de mil personas para escuchar al conferencista.
Rajendra K. Pachauri, dijo traer para Nuevo Laredo un proyecto de energía sustentable para que en coordinación con el estado pueda convertirse en líder y mostrar el camino para establecer un plan de desarrollo sustentable.
“Con el apoyo del presidente municipal, me gustaría involucrar a los jóvenes, traer un cambio con modelo desustentabilidad,estaré complacido de un plan de acción para el futuro de la energía sustentable en esta ciudad”, comentó el conferencista.
Durante su visita, el Doctor Rajendra Pachauri junto al alcalde Enrique Rivas, recorrió la Planta Internacional de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales donde se le explicó el procedimiento que se realiza para devolver el agua al río y luego hacerla potable.
“En Nuevo Laredo hemos puesto en práctica un conjunto de acciones que nos permiten aportar, por mínimo que sea, esfuerzos para reducir el daño al medio ambiente, un ejemplo son las cuatro plantas residuales a cargo de COMAPA, llevamos a cabo reforestación permanente en instituciones educativas, así como en áreas verdes”, explicó el edil a su invitado.
También comentó del centro de acopio y transferencia de residuos peligrosos y electrónicos, único en el país operado por un gobierno municipal, así como del servicio integral de limpieza con relleno sanitario, entre otros ejemplos.
“Los invito a que juntos impulsemos un modelo de desarrollo humano distinto, que armonice la necesidad de generar crecimiento con el cuidado del ambiente de Nuevo Laredo en beneficio de las generaciones por venir, tenemos grandes oportunidades para transitar a un desarrollo sustentable con el apoyo del Gobernador de Tamaulipas, quien día a día da muestra de su compromiso con el cuidado del medio ambiente para tener un futuro promisorio para todos los tamaulipecos”, puntualizó Rivas Cuéllar.
Después de su ponencia Rajendra K. Pachauri interactuó con alumnos de la carrera de Ingeniería en Energía Renovable de la Universidad Tecnológica de Nuevo Laredo.
En el presidium, estuvieron el alcalde Enrique Rivas, la presidenta del DIF Adriana Herrera Zárate, el subsecretario de Educación Media y Superior de Tamaulipas Miguel Efren Tinoco Sánchez, entre otros invitados.
El Premio Nobel de la Paz 2007, realizará una gira por las principales ciudades de Tamaulipas, siendo Nuevo Laredo la primera en visitar.
