La caravana migrante de centroamericanos aprovechó la porosidad de la frontera e ingresó al País a través del río Suchiate.
Anoche, miles de integrantes de la caravana, donde ya no sólo hay hondureños, sino también salvadoreños, guatemaltecos y nicaragüenses, descansaban en los parques Miguel Hidalgo y Bicentenario de esta ciudad.
La gran mayoría rechazó la oferta de agentes de la Policía Federal de ser llevados al albergue habilitado en las instalaciones de la Feria Internacional de Tapachula.
Luego de permanecer en los límites con Guatemala, más de cinco mil personas lograron ingresar al País desde el viernes, a través de balsas hechas de tablones y neumáticos.
Una vez reagrupados, ayer avanzaron unos 35 kilómetros, desde Suchiate a Tapachula, bajo un sol intenso, a una temperatura de 33 grados centígrados.
Fue una caminata de siete horas en la que hicieron pausas para descansar en parques y áreas verdes, entre los municipios de Frontera Hidalgo, Metapa de Domínguez y Tuxtla Chico.
Cientos de agentes de la PF resguardaron el avance de la caravana y, aunque ofrecieron no impedirles el paso, en al menos dos momentos formaron vallas como si intentaran contenerlos. Además, un helicóptero de la corporación sobrevoló a poca altura.
Cuando la carava ingresó a Tapachula, vecinos de esta localidad se acercaron en camionetas para ofrecer agua, refrescos, tortas, tamales, galletas, papel higiénico, pañales y leche en polvo para bebés.
Aunque en la Feria Internacional de Tapachula hay casas de campaña, una cocina, brigadas médicas, baños y víveres, los centroamericanos optaron por recibir ayuda humanitaria de los pobladores.
Denis Omar Contreras, uno de los organizadores de la caravana, dijo que esperarán a que lleguen más migrantes para definir el siguiente paso, como lo han hecho en cada escala desde que salieron de San Pedro Sula, Honduras, el 13 de octubre.
Incluso, advirtió que analizarán la oferta que les hado el Gobierno mexicano para brindarles asilo político en el País.
“Nos ofrecen documentos, pero nos llevan en autobús y nos encierran por tiempo indefinido. Muchos necesitamos refugio, pero lo que hace México es engañarnos”, acusó.
La Secretaría de Gobernación informó anoche que ha recibido mil 28 solicitudes formales de refugio de migrantes que ingresaron a territorio nacional por el punto fronterizo de Ciudad Hidalgo.
