¡Es Benito Juárez!, el rostro del nuevo billete de 500 pesos, anunció este lunes el Banco de México (Banxico), entidad encargada de emitir los billetes y monedas que circulan en el país.
El billete de 500 pesos forma parte de una nueva familia, dijo Banxico en una conferencia con los miembros de la Junta de Gobierno de la entidad en el Museo Interactivo de Economía (MIDE).
En el reverso, la pieza tiene a la ballena gris, los pastos marinos y la Reserva de la biósfera El Vizcaíno, la cual es patrimonio mundial natural.
La decisión de poner en circulación primero el de 500 pesos es porque se trata del más usado por la población y el que sufre más intentos de falsificación, dijo el gobernador de Banxico, Alejandro Díaz de León.
“Por eso resultó lo más conveniente el introducirlo”, explicó.
La nueva familia, que se diseño en 2013, tendrá mejores estándares de seguridad y durabilidad, apuntó al destacar que tendrá seis denominaciones, dos de ellas fabricadas con polímero y el resto de papel algodón.
“Serán más difíciles de falsificar (…) y será más fácil autenticarlos”, dijo Díaz de León.
Los nuevos billetes tendrán dos temas que definirán su diseño: la identidad histórica, para el anverso, y el patrimonio natural, en el reverso.
Los temas históricos considerarán seis grandes etapas en la historia del país:
1. México antiguo
2. La Colonia
3. La Independencia
4. La Reforma y la Restauración de la República
5. La Revolución Mexicana
6. El México Contemporáneo
Para el patrimonio natural del país fueron seleccionados seis ecosistemas, que irán en el anverso de los billetes:
1. Ríos y lagos
2. Bosques templados
3. Matorrales y desiertos
4. Costas,mares e islas
5. Las selvas húmedas
6. Las selvas secas
Tips para no confundir el nuevo de 500 pesos con el viejo de 20 pesos
Si te preguntas que pasará con el billete actual de 20 pesos, que también tiene el retrato de Benito Juárez y es de color azul como el nuevo de 500 pesos, calma.
Banxico explicó que habrá diferencias notorias entre ambas piezas que permitirán evitar confusiones, según la entidad.
*Tamaño: el de nuevo de 500 es más grande que el viejo de 20 pesos.
*El nuevo de 500 es de algodón, y el viejo de 20 pesos es de plástico.
*La denominación del nuevo es multicolor y tiene hilo dinámico, el viejo de 20 pesos no tiene estos elementos.
