El Gobierno municipal lanzó la convocatoria para el programa “Juvebecas”, que se realiza a través del Instituto Municipal para el Desarrollo de la Juventud (IMJUVE) en colaboración con diversas instituciones de educación superior.
Álvaro Morales García, director del IMJUVE, informó que los jóvenes interesados en recibir un apoyo para continuar con sus estudios de universidad y postgrado, pueden acudir a las instalaciones del instituto para presentar su aplicación, o hacerlo por medio de la página de internet www.imjuvenl.mx.
“Este es un esfuerzo entre las universidades, el Instituto y el gobierno municipal, una unión de voluntades para impulsar a los jóvenes a continuar sus estudios, prácticamente les estamos poniendo la mitad del camino, y ya es decisión de ellos tomarlo y continuar con sus sueños”, manifestó Morales García.
Las “Juvebecas” son parte de un programa en alianza con diversas casas de estudio para ofrecer apoyos a jóvenes de excelencia académica para las clases que inician en enero de 2015.
La Universidad del Valle de México participa con 100 becas del 90 por ciento de descuento en inscripción y 50 por ciento en la colegiatura durante el total de los estudios en licenciatura o postgrado, en las modalidades presencial o en línea.
Otra institución que participa es el Tec Milenio, con becas del 40 por ciento de descuento en la colegiatura de licenciatura o postgrado presencial o en línea, y el Tecnológico de Nuevo Laredo otorgará becas del 50 por ciento de descuento en la colegiatura durante los estudios universitarios.
Los requisitos para solicitar la beca son tener entre 15 y 29 años de edad, contar con preparatoria o carrera profesional terminada o por concluir, previo al inicio de cursos en enero de 2015.
En el caso de las becas universitarias, los aspirantes deben tener la preparatoria concluida en una fecha no mayor de un año de lanzada la convocatoria, ser residente de Nuevo Laredo con una antigüedad mínima de un año, tener un promedio académico mínimo de 80 e inscribirse en el programa de voluntariado del IMJUVE.
Deben llenar la aplicación en línea en www.imjuvenl.mx, acudir a las instalaciones del IMJUVE en la avenida Matamoros #309 Altos, sector centro, o llenar la solicitud en los módulos móviles que serán instalados estratégicamente en los cuatro puntos cardinales de la ciudad; las ubicaciones exactas se darán a conocer próximamente.
Para mantener su beca, algunos requisitos son cumplir con el promedio mínimo requerido por la institución a la que se ingrese, cumplir con los pagos económicos correspondientes a la institución, y retribuir la beca mediante el voluntariado del IMJUVE Nuevo Laredo.
