El evento se llevó a cabo en las instalaciones de la Comandancia de la Primera Zona Naval en este municipio y durante la lectura del discurso oficial, el Comandante de esta institución, recordó que hace 191 años la Marina Mexicana consolidó la independencia de nuestro país.
“El compromiso y la interacción de los marinos mexicanos con la sociedad tamaulipeca es palpable, es por eso señor Gobernador que con nuestra solidaria infantería de Marina estamos listos para implementar operaciones de alto impacto con el fin de contribuir en el mantenimiento del orden constitucional, salvaguarda de la soberanía e integridad del territorio nacional y seguridad de las familias tamaulipecas”, mencionó Pérez Rico en el discurso oficial.
Asimismo, mencionó que se han redoblado esfuerzos en contra de las actividades que realiza el narcotráfico y la delincuencia organizada, de tal forma que con las unidades de superficie y aéreas se desarrollan diariamente operaciones navales de vigilancia en la costa tamaulipeca, así como en su espacio aéreo.
De igual forma, añadió que se apoya la preservación de los recursos naturales marítimos y se coadyuva en operaciones contra la pesca ilegal y furtiva y con el fin de fin de aminorar los efectos destructivos de fenómenos hidrometeorológicos se ejecuta con todo el personal naval en esta jurisdicción el Plan Marina de Auxilio a la Población Civil en Casos y Zonas de Emergencia o Desastre, con acciones de apoyo y auxilio a la población civil.
Durante el evento se entregaron Condecoraciones de Perseverancia de Segunda Clase Excepcional por 45 años de servicio ininterrumpidos en la Armada de México al Vicealmirante Francisco Pérez Rico; así como diploma y medalla de Tercera Clase Excepcional por 40 años de servicio ininterrumpido los contralmirantes José Francisco González Galindo y Antonio Velasco Ríos.
De igual forma se entregaron reconocimientos a 30 elementos de la Secretaría Armada de México por antigüedades de 10 hasta 40 años de servicio ininterrumpido y ascensos a 217 elementos de esta Zona Naval, así como premios a los ganadores de las justas deportivas realizadas con motivo de esta conmemoración.
En la ceremonia estuvieron presentes además el Comandante de la Octava Zona Militar, General de Brigada DEM, Luis Crescencio Sandoval González; el Director del Astillero Numero 1, Vicealmirante Félix de Jesús Bárcenas Pazos; el Procurador General de Justicia en el Estado, Irving Barrios Mojica; el secretario de Seguridad Pública del Estado, Vicealmirante Luis Felipe López Castro y los alcaldes de Ciudad Madero, Andrés Zorrilla Moreno; de Tampico, María Magdalena Peraza Guerra y de Altamira, Alma Laura Amparán Cruz, entre otros asistentes.
