Un sismo de magnitud 7 sacudió la costas de Turquía y Grecia en el mar Egeo, dijo el Servicio Geológico de Estados Unidos (USGS).
El USGS comunicó que el movimiento telurico se produjo a 33,5 kilómetros del litoral turco, en el archipiélago griego del Dodecaneso.
Por su parte, la agencia estatal de emergencias de Turquía AFAD reportó el temblor de magnitud 6,6 con epicentro en el mar, a unos 17 kilómetros de la costa de la provincia de Esmirna, a una profundidad de 16 kilómetros.
El terremoto fue percibido en toda la costa de Turquía del mar Egeo y en la región de Mármara, reportaron medios locales.
Víctimas
Más tarde la agencia turca para situaciones de emergencia y desastres naturales, AFAD, reportó que al menos 12 personas fallecieron en Turquía.
“Fueron encontrados los cuerpos de 12 fallecidos”, dice el comunicado.

Los rescatistas hallaron los cuerpos de dos adolescentes, que perdieron la vida en la ciudad de Vathi, ubicada en la isla griega de Samos, por el sismo que sacudió este viernes islas griegas en el este del mar Egeo y el oeste de Turquía, informó el diario griego I Kathimeriní.
“Dos adolescentes, de 17 y 15 años, fueron sacados sin vida en Vathi, en Samos. Resultaron aplastados por un muro de un edificio después del fuerte terremoto que azotó la isla”, comunicó el medio.
