De esta semifinal, fueron invitados de honor Adriana Herrera Zárate, presidenta del DIF Nuevo Laredo y la regidora Nora Hinojosa García quien llevó la representación del alcalde Enrique Rivas.
El objetivo de este concurso, es incentivar en el alumno las ideas liberales, el amor por México, el servicio a la Patria, además de cultivar en ellos el gusto por la oratoria.
La gran final será en Río Bravo, Tamaulipas el 17 de marzo.

Niños del concurso estatal de oratoria Sentimiento Juarista, visitaron al alcalde Enrique Rivas en las oficinas de presidencia municipal para conocerlo y sostener una breve charla con él.
El Presidente Municipal, dio la bienvenida a la comitiva conformada por tres de los concursantes, dos de ellos de Nuevo Laredo y una de Ciudad Victoria, acompañados por la coordinadora estatal del concurso Dora Elia García Covarrubias y Aurelio Uvalle Gallardo, Jefe Regional del Centro de Desarrollo Educativo.
Durante la plática, el Presidente Municipal expuso a los niños la importancia de los maestros en su formación, destacó que ahora son tiempos diferentes por la cantidad de información que tienen a su alcance por el avance de la tecnología.
El edil destacó ante los visitantes su interés por mejorar la educación y como muestra de ello, les dijo que la administración que preside ayuda a mejorar la infraestructura de planteles educativos para mejorar las condiciones de estudio de los niños y niñas.
