El expugilista Óscar de la Hoya fue arrestado este miércoles en Pasadena, California, por conducir ebrio y a exceso de velocidad, reportó la Patrulla de Caminos de California, Estados Unidos.
Antes, el portal TMZ detalló que la policía de dicha ciudad sometió esta mañana a un breve interrogatorio al actual promotor de boxeo. Agregó que, de acuerdo con los protocolos, De la Hoya se encontraba bajo los influjos del alcohol.
El oficial Stephan Brandt informó que el exboxeador fue detenido por conducir su camioneta Land Rover a exceso de velocidad, aproximadamente a las dos de la madrugada.
Según la autoridad, se detectó olor a alcohol en el vehículo del expeleador, y cuando le aplicó la prueba de sobriedad al conductor, éste no la superó, razón por la que fue detenido.
Más tarde, el exdeportista de origen mexicano obtuvo su libertad, tras el pago de una fianza que hizo su manager y deberá rendir su declaración en los próximos días.
De la Hoya es el principal promotor de la pelea entre los mexicanos Julio César Chávez jr. y Saúl Álvarez, el 6 de mayo en Las Vegas.
