A unas horas de que cierre el plazo para registrar alianzas en el Estado de México, el acuerdo entre el PRD y el PAN para lograr una coalición no se concretó, pues ambos partidos buscaban que su candidato abanderara la coalición.
La votación en el Comité Ejecutivo Nacional del PRD concluyó alrededor de las 21:00 horas sin que se aprobara ir juntos con Acción Nacional, pero con el Partido del Trabajo sí se alcanzó un acuerdo.
Luego de numerosas reuniones entre líderes de corrientes perredistas y encuentros con representantes panistas, no hubo un acuerdo final y la votación fue en contra. Además, el PRD se desquebraja ante la amenaza de Movimiento Ciudadano de quedar fuera en caso de que no sea Alejandro Encinas el que la encabezara.
Dos de los principales factores por los que se atoró la alianza es que tanto el PRD como el PAN intentaban que su candidato abanderara el pacto; y que dentro del partido de izquierda hay voces discordantes como el líder de la corriente Alternativa Democrática Nacional, Héctor Bautista.
“Yo entiendo que el PRD, sus órganos de dirección son órganos colegiados y nosotros representamos el 30 o 33 por ciento de los mismos del CEN, así que no nos vamos imponer. Nosotros hemos discutido política y hemos hecho propuestas políticas y esas las analicen en su conjunto el órgano de dirección y así va a tomar una decisión”, comentó Bautista por la tarde.
