Alcaldes de diferentes municipios en México llegarán a Nuevo Laredo como invitados a la tradicional Ceremonia del Abrazo entre dos naciones que se realiza en inmediaciones del Puente Internacional Juárez Lincoln.
El Presidente municipal, Enrique Rivas anunció que el próximo 18 de febrero recibirá a por lo menos cinco alcaldes del país que presenciarán la LVI ceremonia del abrazo que simboliza la amistad y comunión entre el gobierno de Laredo, Texas y Nuevo Laredo.
“También se está comunicando con nosotros el senador Ernesto Cordero quien va participar en esta ceremonia del brazo, hoy Nuevo Laredo está recuperando el liderazgo, al convertirse en foco de atención como ayer que estuvo aquí la licenciada Margarita Zavala, a principios de semana estuvo el gobernador del Estado, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca y se recibió a cuatro gobernadores integrantes de la CONAGO, queremos que volteen a ver la ciudad y lo estamos logrando”, comentó el alcalde.
Entre los alcaldes que visitarán la ciudad son Enrique Vargas del Villar de Huixquilucan, Estado de México, Teresa Jiménez de Aguascalientes, Juan Manuel Gastélum Buenrostro, de Tijuana, Baja California, entre otros del estado de San Luis Potosí.
“Los alcaldes vienen a presenciar la ceremonia del abrazo, les llama mucho la atención porque no en todas las fronteras con Estados Unidos se lleva a cabo, pero además por lo que representa ante un cambio de gobierno en donde queda muy por encima de cualquier elección la buena relación y amistad que mantenemos con nuestros vecinos de Laredo, Texas”.
Durante su estancia en la ciudad, los alcaldes se reunirán con grupos de apoyo a los migrantes a fin de conocer de cerca la problemática por la que atraviesan los mexicanos repatriados.
