La ceremonia fue encabezada por el presidente municipal, Carlos Canturosas Villarreal quien estuvo acompañado por el presidente del Patronato Pro Indigentes Psiquiátricos de Nuevo Laredo A.C., Reynaldo Eduardo Flores Villarreal para poner en marcha de manera oficial este moderno edificio.
En su discurso, el alcalde destacó que es prioritario para el gobierno municipal crear más centros de salud y de calidad como este, debido al gran índice de personas con problemas mentales que vagan por las calles de la ciudad.
“Este centro tiene como principal función preponderante, proveer de asistencia médica y obviamente atención especializada a todos los enfermos psiquiátricos que están deambulando por la ciudad, el gobierno municipal, el DIF y las familias muchas veces no saben cómo tratar a un paciente psiquiátrico, en este nuevo centro se le brindarán las atenciones adecuadas”, manifestó el munícipe.
Por su parte, el presidente del Patronato Pro Indigentes Psiquiátricos de Nuevo Laredo A.C., Reynaldo Eduardo Flores expresó su gratitud al presidente municipal y aseguró que se encargarán cabalmente de dar la cobertura y la atención adecuada a la ciudadanía.
“Ahora estamos en un edificio nuevo, moderno, diseñado y construido por la actual administración municipal para funcionar exclusivamente como hospital de atención psiquiátrica y que nos ha sido entregado como comodato por los próximos 10 años, gracias a la voluntad de servicio y de buen gobierno de nuestro amigo Carlos Canturosas Villarreal”, comentó.
En el evento se reconoció la labor altruista y humana del Patronato Pro Indigentes Psiquiátricos de Nuevo Laredo A.C. a quienes se les apoya con 250 mil pesos mensuales por la actual administración.
Este centro está construido sobre una superficie de 790 metros cuadrados y cuenta con 14 habitaciones dobles y 6 sencillas para cuidados especiales, acceso principal, recibidor, sala de espera, acceso de emergencia, enfermería, farmacia y control, almacén, dirección, contabilidad, administración y control.
También cuenta con lavandería, salón de usos múltiples y comedor, concina con alacena, psicología, dos módulos de psiquiatría, trabajo social, bodega, servicios sanitarios y cuarto de aseo.
