La Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes, una influyente organización con sede en Washington y que representa a más de 14 mil compañías, defendió en un comunicado que el Vicepresidente, Mike Pence, debería “considerar seriamente” invocar la enmienda 25 de la Constitución para inhabilitar a Trump por supuesta incapacidad para gobernar.
“El Presidente saliente incitó a la violencia en un intento para mantenerse en el poder y cualquier cargo electo que lo defiende está violando su juramento a la Constitución y rechazando la democracia en favor de la anarquía”, señaló su presidente, Jay Timmons.
Timmons, antiguo directivo del Partido Republicano, subrayó que las denuncias de fraude electoral de Trump no tienen ninguna base y responsabilizó al mandatario y a su partido de lo sucedido.

Sin embargo, en esta ocasión las críticas llegaron incluso por parte de algunas figuras empresariales próximas al propio Trump, como el jefe de Blackstone Group, Stephen Scharzman, quien consideró que “la insurrección que siguió a las palabras del Presidente es lamentable y una afrenta a los valores democráticos”.
El mayor banco del país, JPMorgan Chase, subrayó en un mensaje de su máximo responsable, James Dimon, que los líderes tienen la responsabilidad de exigir el fin de la violencia, aceptar los resultados electorales y apoyar una transición pacífica.
También denunciaron lo sucedido en Washington los jefes de otras grandes entidades como Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Bank of America y Goldman Sachs.
