El grupo de 10 mil migrantes corre riesgo de dispersarse, en su camino hacia EU
TAPACHULA. Sin estrategia sobre una ruta para llegar a Estados Unidos, la caravana migrante –integrada por casi 10 mil centroamericanos, la mayoría hondureños– hizo una pausa ayer en Tapachula, luego de una caminata desde Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas.
Un primer contingente –de unas 7 mil 800 personas según autoridades del municipio de Suchiate– salió a las 05:40 horas; cerca de las 16:00 horas, otro grupo con más de mil 900 rezagados inició la caminata por el mismo tramo.
Antes del mediodía se vivieron momentos de tensión por la instalación de una valla-retén de policías federales, con mujeres y equipo antimotines, quienes se retiraron en cuanto se acercaron los migrantes, pues la instrucción desde Gobernación fue de no confrontación y agotar el diálogo.
Durante el trayecto, elementos de la Policía Federal (PF) y del Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) los invitaban a subirse a autobuses de la dependencia y a que acudieran al refugio instalado en la Feria Mesoamericana, donde hay al menos 300 hondureños.
Sin embargo, los migrantes desdeñaron el apoyo, pues aseguraban que una vez dentro serían detenidos y deportados.
Además, dijeron desconocer dónde y en qué condiciones están las personas que formalizaron solicitud de asilo.
Manelich Castilla, comisionado general de la PF, aseguró que no están detenidos, pero deben cumplir un protocolo.
Llamó a los centroamericanos a acudir a los albergues que ofrece el gobierno de la entidad para que regularicen su situación migratoria y dijo que no se hará uso de la fuerza.
En cuanto arribaron a Tapachula, se instalaron en el Parque Central; los primeros ingresaron antes de las 2 de la tarde y tres horas y media después seguían entrando a la ciudad para buscar un sitio dónde descansar y reiniciar la travesía mañana martes.
Durante el trayecto, fueron apoyados por habitantes de comunidades chiapanecas, quienes les entregaban ropa, agua y alimentos. La Cruz Roja y la Marina también realizaron actividades para ayudarlos; incluso, la Armada aclaró que no eran tareas de seguridad y los marinos no iban armados.
También han estado acompañados por miembros de organizaciones sociales, como Pueblos sin Fronteras y Movimiento Migrante Mesoamericano (MMM).
Rubén Figueroa, dirigente del MMM, señaló que, más que una caravana, se trata de un éxodo migrante, pues las familias no están organizadas y huyeron principalmente de Honduras, por la crisis política, de seguridad y económica.
Comentó que lo más probable es que caminen juntos hasta Arriaga, Chiapas, recorrido que realizarán en dos o tres días, y de ahí partan hacia Oaxaca y Veracruz; de ahí, la ruta es incierta, por lo que probablemente definan tres vías: hacia Reynosa, Tamaulipas; Nogales, Sonora, o Tijuana, Baja California, pero cada quien por sus medios, dijo.
Por la noche a través de un altavoz, quienes están a la cabeza de la caravana solicitaban a los migrantes comportarse, pues detectaron que hay grupos que se han dedicado a beber y drogarse.
Los migrantes permanecieron en Ciudad Hidalgo el viernes y sábado, tras cruzar el río o el puente fronterizo “Rodolfo Robles”. Según el municipio de Suchiate, 60 por ciento de los migrantes ingresó por el puente fronterizo, y 40 por ciento cruzó por el río.
