NUEVO LAREDO – TAMAULIPAS .- Con el objetivo de fomentar la conservación, protección y restauración de los ecosistemas, así como fortalecer el desarrollo y crecimiento de Nuevo Laredo, la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA) en coordinación con el gobierno municipal realizó este jueves la plantación de 800 árboles a la orilla del Parque Sustentable “Los Fresnos” y arroyo el Coyote. Este evento forma parte de la Campaña Nacional de Forestación a través de la cual la SEDENA y el ayuntamiento plantarán más de 4 mil árboles de distintos tipos durante octubre.
Esta primera fase de reforestación el presidente municipal, Carlos Canturosas Villarreal aprovechó para destacar la importancia de cuidar el medio ambiente y sobre todo a las plantas y los arboles, que son pieza fundamental para mantener una ciudad libre de contaminantes.
“Debemos ser conscientes de que el clima en nuestra ciudad es extremo y que contar con diferentes especies de árboles actuará a nuestro favor para mejorar en este sentido. Esta mañana plantamos 400 plantas washingtonianas y 400 fresnos, que debido a sus características podrán crecer de manera optima en esta zona cercana al arroyo. Exhortamos a todos los ciudadanos a que nos apoyen a cuidar este espacio que será de gran beneficio para todos nosotros”, explicó el alcalde.
Por su parte el, Coronel de Caballería Diplomado de Estado Mayor, Comandante del 16° Regimiento de Caballería Motorizado, Héctor Adrian Mosqueda Velázquez, expresó sentirse muy contento de poder contar con el gobierno municipal para promover el cuidado ambiental en todos los sectores de la ciudad.
“Es un gusto para nosotros estar aquí apoyando al medio ambiente en compañía del alcalde, como siempre coadyuvando en el mejoramiento ecológico en nuestra ciudad. Esta tarea que permitirá la sociedad neolaredense cuente con más espacios públicos y recreativos que garanticen su sano desarrollo. Corresponde a todos nosotros cuidar lo que hoy hemos plantado para lograr que nuestro ambiente sea más agradable”, finalizó.
Los días 16 y 17 del mes en curso se continuará con ese programa de plantación en las Riveras del Bravo, donde se colocarán un total de 3 mil 800 árboles, entre ellos mil 200 guamúchil, 800 leucaenas, 200 fresnos y 800 rompe vientos entre otros.
Además destacaron que miembros de la Sedena continuarán realizando labor social a lo largo de la ciudad con actividades como albañilería, plomería, jardinería y otras actividades encaminadas a mejorar la imagen urbana.
Al evento acudieron alrededor de 50 alumnos de la escuela secundaria No. 6 “Profesor Rubén Miranda Villalba” quienes se unieron al alcalde, elementos de la SEDENA y demás funcionarios municipales para apoyar en la forestación que duró poco más de dos horas.
También estuvieron presentes Jorge Pérez Santos, segundo regidor y representante del sector, Ofelia Arredondo Jiménez, tercera regidora y presidenta de la comisión de medio ambiente y cambio climático, Carlos Germán de Anda Hernández, secretario de Obras Públicas Desarrollo Urbano y Medio Ambiente, Miguel Ángel Castillo Gutiérrez, director de Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático, así como Agustín Boone Flores, representante de la Comisión Internacional de Límites y Agua.
