Con la curaduría de Tatyana Franck de Maud’huy, la exposición “Las hijas de Terracota”, de la artista plástica francesa Prune Nourry, será inaugurada este jueves en el Museo Diego Rivera-Anahuacalli, en la Ciudad de México.
En conferencia de prensa, Nourry mencionó que el proyecto, compuesto por 108 esculturas inspiradas en los Guerreros de Terracota, lo empezó en 2012 y nunca se imaginó que este trabajo terminaría en México.
Mencionó, además, que esta es la última parada antes de que el ejército de niñas sea enterrado en China, por espacio de 20 años.
La base de esta exhibición, dijo, está pensada en ocho niñas de distintos pueblos chinos, bajo la premisa de que ese número representa el infinito según la cultura oriental.
La artista detalló que primero esculpió ocho piezas originales y a partir de esas hizo moldes de su cabeza, torso y piernas, a fin de utilizarlas para el total de figuras.
Maravillada por lo atractivo que le resulta el Anahuacalli, refirió que decidió utilizar el barro como vínculo para llevar el material de vuelta a la tierra, es decir, “una vez terminada la exhibición, las piezas serán trasladadas a China para que sean enterradas”.
En su oportunidad, el director general de los museos Diego Rivera-Anahuacalli y Frida Kahlo, Carlos Phillips Olmedo, comentó que la obra parece hecha específicamente para este recinto y para la colección que tiene.
Luego de su paso por China, Francia, Suiza y Estados Unidos, “Las hijas de Terracota” concluirá su travesía el 30 de noviembre en el Anahuacalli.
