Rata de dos patas es probablemente la canción más famosa de Francisca Viveros Barradas, mejor conocida como Paquita la del Barrio. Este éxito de la interprete veracruzana, como la gran mayoría de su discografía, es un mensaje iracundo y sin filtro de ella a un hombre que la traiciona o le rompe el corazón. Se ha convertido en una especie de himno de protesta contra el machismo mexicano, pero recientemente cobró un tono político. Desde finales de julio ha circuladoun video en YouTube, Facebook y Twitter en el que un imitador de la cantante interpreta una versión de este éxito. La letra fue cambiada a una crítica aEnrique Peña Nieto, Angélica Rivera y al PRI. Las distintas versiones del video llevan titulares que dan a entender que es la misma Paquita la que canta.
También desde el pasado julio, varios medios noticiosos lo reportaron como una interpretación de la cantante. Fue hasta el pasado 7 de septiembre que Paquita aclaró la situación en una entrevista con Ciro Gómez Leyva en su programa de radio matutino. La intérprete explica que el protagonista del video es uno de sus muchos imitadores. Este reside en Estados Unidos, según Paquita, y ella no lo considera muy buen imitador. También aseguró que le ha llamado la atención por su polémica interpretación. “Le dije, ¡Cómo se te ocurre hacer esas pendejadas!, las disculpas no van, en qué situación me pones a mí con el señor Presidente y con toda la gente”.
Aunque ella no es la autora de la canción contra Peña Nieto, Paquita ha expresado públicamente su preocupación ante los problemas sociales y políticos en México. En una conferencia de prensa en febrero de 2015 en Los Ángeles, dijo con lágrimas en los ojos, que le dolía la situación del país. “Váyanse a vivir un poquito allá y verán, para que sientan lo que uno siente. Vean a la pobre gente, yo trabajo y me dan mis centavos, pero los que ganan 100 pesos, pues no es nada. Siempre lo he dicho México necesita gente que lo quiera”. Este video muestra un fragmento de la conferencia.
