El saltador base italiano Uli Emanuele, famoso representante del país transalpino, murió en un accidente en Austria mientras realizaba grabaciones para un video de sus exhibiciones, informaron medios locales.
El accidente mortal se produjo cuando Emanuele, de 29 años, se encontraba en Dolomitas austriacas. A través de su página de Facebook compartió una imagen a unos 3 mil metros de altura en donde escribía: “Listo para empezar un nuevo salto”.
El italiano era famoso en su país por unos videos en donde hacía saltos extremos entre aros de fuego y pequeños espacios entre las montañas.
Empezó su carrera como paracaidista, siguiendo la trayectoria de su padre, aunque en los últimos años se había dedicado al salto base y lanzamientos con traje aéreo. El salto base, es una modalidad del paracaidismo que consiste en saltar desde un punto fijo.
En 2010, el italiano participó y ganó en un evento de salto base en España.
